(Beidou Network News) On May 20, 2016, the 7th China Satellite Navigation Conference was successfully concluded in Changsha, Hunan after 3 days of academic exchanges, high-end forums, exhibitions, scientific popularization and a series of activities. More than 2000 people attended the meeting such as officials of satellite navigation systems at home and abroad, experts and scholars in the field of satellite navigation and representatives of satellite navigation application enterprises. At the opening ceremony, Li Wang (Chairman of China Satellite Navigation System Committee) and Jianfei Zhang (Vice Governor of Hunan Province) made a speech, respectively. Ran Chengqi, director of the China Satellite Navigation Office, gave the report titled “Beidou Navigation Satellite System Operation and Development”. Government officials of U.S., Russia, and EU respectively made GNSS competent department reports, and comprehensively introduced the latest progress of BDS and other satellite navigation systems, and began the three-day academic annual meeting.

During the conference, many activities were held subsequently, including a keynote speech, Application Industry Forum, JOINT CSNC-ION PANEL, China Satellite Navigation Conference-Global Chinese Navigation Association Federation, 12 field branch exchanges, “Beidou Night” Activities, Beidou Industry Promotion, Beidou Talent Exchange Activities and “Meet Chihiro, Fine Future” strategy conference. Besides, Chinese delegation also organized the 30th Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) Interoperability Working Group (IWG) and International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite System (ICG) Interference Detection Mitigation (IDM), talking about the application and cooperation among participating countries. Moreover, the conference also presented the Excellent Paper Award, Youth Excellent Paper Award, and awarded winners in the 7th ‘Beidou Cup’ Science and Technology Innovation Fair. In the meanwhile, the 7th China Satellite Navigation Technology and Application Achievement Exhibition was operated in hand. Nearly more than 200 enterprises and scientific institutions attend the exhibition, presenting their latest work and innovative idea in satellite navigation field.
